Morning Star is a visual representation of the beauty of celestial geometry. The orbits of the Earth and Venus are in near perfect 8:13 resonance – the Earth orbits the Sun 8 times for every 13 orbits of Venus – creating a looping pentagrammic pattern in space when viewed from the geocentric point of view of the Earth.  8:13 is a succession in the Fibonacci sequence and is closely approximated by the golden ratio, 0.618. The resulting Earth/Venus orbital pentagrammic resonance pattern when scaled at the golden ratio, perfectly subsumes itself within itself to form an infinitely scaled star fractal with no end.

The intricate pattern seen here is entirely determined by the geometry of the golden ratio. The proportionate length of the arms of the stars, the internal angles of the lines and the relative scaling of star-to-star relationships and the resulting rosette-like clusters all conform to 1:1.61803… It’s a testament to the stunning complexity that can arise from geometric simplicity.

Venus – the morning star – is the most visible celestial body in the sky after the Sun and the Moon and has played a key role in humankind’s mythology and its understanding of the cosmos. Though an ancient knowledge, for centuries the study of celestial patterns had been dangerous due in most part by the persecution of the Catholic church that viewed the protosciences of astrology and alchemy as heresy and aligned with the devil.
